Ilias Gkotsis (MSc) is a Mechanical and Aeronautics Engineer with an MSc degree in Energy Production and Management. Currently, he is a PhD candidate in the Dep. of Transportation Planning & Engineering of NTUA, through which he has also participated in several transportation research projects and studies (e.g. traffic modelling, transport network management, road transport emissions, etc.). From 2012, he is heavily involved (implementation, management and coordination) in EU and Nationally Funded R&D projects (H2020, FP7, DG ECHO, CIPS, ISF, NSRF, etc.), regarding security, critical infrastructure protection, disaster resilience, civil protection, crisis management, border surveillance, ICT and Unmanned Aerial Systems (for which he is a certified pilot by HCAA), as an associate researcher at the Center for Security Studies (KEMEA), of the Hellenic Ministry of Citizen Protection.
